We are seeking a Part-Time Certified/Registered Medical Assistant to join our team in the Philadelphia market! We strive to empower our team to succeed while embodying our core values: Be Kind, Do What's Right, Never Settle, Make It Happen, and Enjoy the Ride.ABOUT THE ROLEOur Medical Assistants are integral members of the clinical team, working closely with the front desk operations team, registered nurses, and nurse practitioners to ensure that we provide world-class patient care. Providing a personal touch, we look to them to prepare patients for their biological infusion and injection therapies by reviewing charts, taking patient histories, and vital signs, and generally support both the administrative and clinical functions in a center.HOURS AND LOCATIONSThis position is considered Part-Time working 3 days per week, approximately 24 hours/week, supporting the Jenkintown Infusion Center and the Bensalem Infusion Center. Our ideal candidate is flexible and can float to support both locations. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve patients by scheduling their infusion visits, maintaining EMR records, accounts and greeting them for their appointment
- Keep patient appointments on schedule by validating eligibility, initiating and following up on prior authorizations, and notifying nurses of patient arrival
- Comfort patients by anticipating their needs, answering their questions, maintaining a clean and organized reception area, and maintaining an inventory of basic supplies.
- Ensure the availability of treatment information by receiving, filing, and retrieving patient records and mail quickly and completely
- Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating insurance and personal financial information
- Protect patient rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
- Maintain operations by following processes, and procedures and reporting necessary changes
- Accept deliveries and route them to appropriate departments.
- Answer incoming calls.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
- Prepare rooms for infusions or injections
- Restock supplies as needed
- From time to time, based on certification/license scope of practice
- May provide intake upon arrival to include taking vitals, medical reconciliation, and health history
- Review charts and reach out to providers as needed to verify or validate patient orders
- Work at multiple facilities within the market as needed

QualificationsCOMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

- Experience and strong familiarity utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems

- Ability to monitor patients during infusions
- Ability to document patient care in the EMR
- Ability to order and maintain medical supplies

- Ability to answer telephones and schedule appointments
- Demonstrates ability to adhere to honest ethical healthcare and business practices including abiding by HIPAA guidelines and respecting patients' privacy
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, AND EXPERIENCE
- Successful completion of a formal Medical Assistant program, with an obtained certification as a Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
- 1 -2 years of experience in a medical office setting
- High school Diploma or GED
- Experience working in an Infusion therapy setting is a plus, but not required
