Job Description:

The part-time Office Assistant will provide reception and administrative assistance to students, staff, and guests of the Aviation program in support of the Aviation Administrative Team's values: welcome, connect and advocate. It is important to remember that as we equip students with the tools of aviation technology, our core purpose is to invest in young men and women through mentorship and life on life discipleship, instilling within them a heart and passion honor the King with their lives. Therefore, performing our assigned jobs in a manner that demonstrates the department's concerns of honoring the King, caring for people, achieving, and maintaining excellence, and increasing effectiveness are key components to Moody Aviation's success.   • Oversee front desk activities while creating an atmosphere where all who engage with you at Moody aviation whether in person, on the phone or via email feel welcomed, valued, and heard.
  • Front desk activities which are shared between the Office Assistants include but are not limited to: reception, phones, emails and mail and package delivery processing, sign in and out process, receive student and staff payments, Moody gear sales, contact database and Mailchimp updates from graduate prayer letters, manage various Aviation Outlook calendars, vehicle reservations and sign out, maintain aviation key inventory, maintain office supplies, keep shared workspace in an orderly manner, facility tour scheduling, prospective student inquiries and occasionally giving aviation campus tours, weekly Aviation FYI (student bulletin), Bright Signs campus announcements, Ministry Partnership Development program printing prayer letters and as needed editing draft letters to provide feedback for students.
  • Manages and maintains the Food Pantry, kitchen and coffee supplies keeping the area in an orderly fashion. Supervises student worker who assists with this area.
  • Manage cabin scheduling, paperwork, reservations, and communication,
  • Assist with Moody Aviation events coordination (meal planning, shopping, preparing, cleanup, and storage)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Knowledge and unreserved commitment to MBI's mission, doctrinal statement, and Moody Aviation's traditional distinctives and standards
  • High School Diploma
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software products
  • Authorized to work in the US legally without sponsorship
Preferred Requirements
  • WA State Food Worker Card

This job operates in a standard office environment.This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copier/printer/scanners, and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit, and type.This position will frequently stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, finger or feel and reach with hands and arms. This position is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Limited travel is expected for this position. The typical scheduled involves:
  • Two- 8-hour workdays to be coordinated with the other Office Assistant so that there is coverage each day of the week
  • One 4-hour workday on one additional day most weeks.
  • Occasionally will be called upon to serve as a back up to the partner Office Assistant extra days of the week.
  • 8-hour day on Fridays when Moody events are scheduled
  • Two to four Saturdays per year to assist with special events hosted on a Saturday.
