Job Type Part-time Description The Part-time Property Assistant provides maintenance and repairs, grounds keeping, and lawn care and landscaping for their assigned property and may assist with the maintenance of other properties as requested. The Part-time Property Assistant ensures troop, day, and resident campers have a safe camp property, facilities, and equipment. This is a part-time, non-exempt position working up to 19 hours a week. This position does not require the employee to live on-site. Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to maintain a current NC driver's license.
- Good communication, time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Must be self-motivated and a team player.
- Must have excellent customer relations skills and the ability to interact with volunteers and staff.
- May work weekends and some holidays.
- Occasional travel and overnight stay at other properties.
- Commitment to GSNCCP and GSUSA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Racial Justice (DEI/RJ) initiatives.
- Must be willing to obtain a GSUSA membership upon employment.
Physical Demands: Must be able to drive vehicles and equipment on and off camp property, walk at least a mile on uneven or sandy terrain, able to move, lift and carry up to 50 lbs; see in dimly lit areas (under buildings and with a flashlight), and to operate equipment and tools. Work Environment: Most of the work is isolated. The work is year-round, in and out of doors, and is subject to weather extremes. This position may be subjected periodically to bleach, latex, pollen, dust, pesticides, and herbicides. The noise level may be high when operating equipment. Travel to remote locations, other camps, or council service centers may be required to perform the duties of this position and as assigned.
