Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Help the PT in all aspects of patient care
- Under the guidance of the PT, perform therapy techniques/exercises
- Measure and track patient progress, informing PT of all changes
- Provide patients with needed continued care information
- Assist the Physical Therapist in patient handling, treatment, and management
- Carry out techniques and exercises prescribed by Physical Therapist
- Keep Physical Therapist up to date on changes in patient progress
- Help measure and track intervention effectiveness
- Educate the patient on continuing care
- Other duties as assigned
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
Successful Candidates Must Have:
- Valid Texas PTA License preferred
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals
- Excellent problem-solving abilities to develop individualized treatment plans
- Empathy and compassion to provide emotional support to patients during their rehabilitation journey
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple patients and treatment plans simultaneously
- Ability to work efficiently/effectively in an autonomous environment
- Must be self-motivated with a willingness to learn and use all physical therapy modalities
- 1 year of experience is preferred, but we happily work with new graduates and those still studying to enter the field
