Florida, Midland, TX Job Summary Tutors for the Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (GED) will assist in instructing students in Midland College's Adult Education Program.Required Qualifications An earned High School Diploma or equivalent.Experience tutoring various subjects to include Science, English, Social Studies, and Math.Experience tutoring adult learners.Experience working in an educational setting.Preferred Qualifications An earned Associate's Degree or Higher from an accredited university.Experience in teaching adult students or high school students.Essential Functions Tutor students who have achieved varying levels of mastery in the subject matter area (Language Arts, Social Science, Science, and Math)Tutor students online, face-to-face, or a combination of the two modalities on a schedule as assigned by the TXCHSE (GED) CoordinatorCommunicate effectively and appropriately with studentsReport and interpret test results for individual studentsProvide tutoring and additional instructional support to students as necessaryAttend required staff meetingsComplete the required clock hours of professional development as assigned through the state training portal by the program's Professional Development CoordinatorPhysical Demands Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 20 poundsMust be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the timeUse of manual dexteritySecurity Sensitivity All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
