EF Academy Pasadena PT Vehicle DriverThe Vehicle Driver's responsibility is to transport students between school and other sites within designated route(s) and to ensure the safety of the student passengers while in a school vehicle. Employees in this classification receive general supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures. This job class is responsible for the safe operation of a school van (9 passenger + 1 driver) and for ensuring the safety of student passengers while meeting established field study schedules. They join an extended family that cares for them, nurtures them and encourages them to become their best selves.Professional Qualifications and Qualities:* Possession of a valid California Driver's License within the proper class;* Possession of a safe driving record, undergo a drivers history check via DMV;* Knowledge of basic first aid practices, procedures, and techniques;* Knowledge of safe driving practices;* Ability to read and write at a level necessary to successfully perform the required duties;* Ability to understand and carry out both oral and written instructions in an independent manner;* Ability to establish and maintain proper student conduct on school vehicle;* Ability to drive a school van safely and efficiently;* Ability to exercise good judgment and extreme caution while driving;* Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform required duties;* Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationship with those contacted in the performance of required duties;* Be a motivated and flexible team player that is ready to work towards the good of the community.Key Responsibilities:* Drives a school van within a prescribed route(s) in accordance with time schedules;* Transports students and teachers on field trips and excursions to various locations;* Maintains order and proper discipline of student passengers according to school policy;* Conducts safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle before departure;* Reports needed mechanical repairs when necessary;* Fill the gas tank when needed;* Completes periodic mileage and other reports including passenger counts;* Attends various meetings regarding safety, first aid and training updates as required by the school;* Operates a two-way radio;* Performs other related duties as required.Work StatusThis role is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position.
