MCAH is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating services that address population health priorities across San Luis Obispo County. Field Nursing positively impacts the health and well-being of hundreds of San Luis Obispo families through direct home-based interventions.Field nursing in San Luis Obispo County includes Nurse Family Partnership, Healthy Families America, and an Early Support Program designed to build relationships, provide guidance and education, link to resources, and supports individuals and family groups from pre-pregnancy through the childhood years to meet their individualized goals. Each of these strength-based programs are voluntary for participants and aimed to reduce health disparities by delivering trauma-informed, family-centered, and culturally competent care.Field nursing is looking for innovative and passionate Public Health Nurses who can practice autonomously out in the community and work as a partner within a larger system of community-based care providers. This position provides leadership opportunities, welcomes ideas and outside-the-box approaches and thinking.Public Health Nurses working within Field Nursing spend approximately 80% of their working time in the community and 20% in an office setting.The Field Nursing positions are based in Morro Bay, Grover Beach, San Luis Obispo, and Paso Robles, but will serve the community countywide as needed.
