Salary Range: C41($27.75 - $35.15/hour)/C42($29.07 - $36.83/hour) Non-exempt* salary commensurate with experiencePosition Summary:Under the direction of the Immunization Nurse Supervisor, the Public Health Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care and immunizations to patients based upon established written procedures.Responsibilities include but not limited to:Providing childhood and adult immunizations with the main clinic and various outreach sites as needed.Conducting assessments of current immunization coverage levels on a routine basis.Recording patient care and progress regularly.Documenting data, generating reports, and completing appropriate forms as required.Developing educational guidance and providing education to patients, high-risk groups, healthcare providers, and others in the community concerning immunizations.Minimum Qualifications:PH Nurse I/C41: Associate's degree in nursing with 2 years of relevant experiencePH Nurse II/C42: Bachelor's degree in nursing with 4 years of relevant experience (2 years of which are Public Health), OR Associate's degree in nursing with 6 years of relevant experience (2 years of which are Public Health)Current valid Licensure from State of Ohio to practice as a Registered NurseMust obtain 24 CEU's every two (2) yearsProficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams).Understands and acknowledges that Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County uses evidence-based and evidence-informed public health practices based on scientific research including health promotion theory and practice, environmental health measures, and communicable disease control measures including vaccination, isolation, and quarantine practices, and medicine for treatment and prevention of disease, among others.Understands and acknowledges the use of tobacco or nicotine products in any form including replacement therapy products and prescription medications used to treat smoking addiction for anyone hired after January 1, 2014, is prohibitedRequired to play an active role during a public health emergency, crisis, outbreak, incident, or event in which the Health Commissioner deems additional personnel resources are warranted.
