The County Health & Human Services Department is seeking a dedicated Public Health Nurse to deliver essential healthcare services, education, and support to the community.Salary InformationThe compensation for this position ranges from $30.91 (Starting Wage) to $41.57 (Top Wage) per hour. This salary structure is based on the County's 9-step pay scale, with compensation starting at Step 1 demonstrating entry-level pay.DescriptionKey responsibilities include providing outreach on health topics such as nutrition, chronic disease, and communicable diseases as well as organizing and staffing clinics for immunizations, disease detection, and school health services. Other responsibilities also include monitoring and reporting on vaccine use and communicable disease cases. This role also requires collaboration with schools, emergency responders, and community agencies to offer comprehensive care, including case management for children with special needs, opioid overdose follow-up, and infectious disease investigation. The nurse will also engage in public health emergency planning, offer syringe exchange and Naloxone training, collect data for research, and participate in community health assessments and policy development.
