This includes communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees in addition to planning and directing employees' work. The incumbent has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action. The incumbent will also be required to develop performance expectations, meet with staff regularly to discuss performance, complete performance reviews, maintain vacation and work schedules, ensuring proper coverage, and complete timesheets.This is a professional licensed nutrition supervisor position in the Special Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). This position is responsible for all aspects of coordination and supervision for the Jackson County WIC Agency and will report directly to the COUNTY HLTH DEPARTMNT ADMINSITRATOR-HLTH. The primary responsibility for this position is to serve as the WIC Coordinator in Jackson County ensuring WIC services in Jackson, Holmes, Washington, Calhoun, and Liberty counties. The incumbent will provide nutrition assessment and counseling to high-risk participants. The incumbent is tasked to support and promote excellent customer service. Compliance with all standards associated with this position is required, along with the adherence to security, integrity and confidentiality regulations, policies, and procedures. The incumbent in this position is responsible for the integrity and confidentiality of data sets under his/her control.Monitors and supervises WIC Program operations including agreements, participant certification, food delivery systems, food vendor management, nutrition education, financial management, outreach coordination and referral, monitoring and technical assistance, and training staff development with DHM, 150-24. Acts as liaison for the State WIC Office and as a member of Jackson County Health Department Executive Team. Participates in meetings and conferences related to the WIC Program and public health. Develops and updates Nutrition Education Program Plan as required for submission to the state WIC office.Certifies participants for WIC in accordance with federal requirements and Florida DOH WIC policies and guidelines. Accurately determines a nutritional/health risk reason for certification through individual nutrition assessments and evaluations of health data obtained. Provides appropriate WIC food packages to clients based on individually assessed information and current rules in place. Develops a nutrition care plan for all clients directly serviced, utilizing all health and nutrition factors available for assessment. Documents all utilizing the SOAP method of Problem Oriented Recording. Provides professional nutrition counseling and follow up to clients in accordance with established care plan, nutrition education and breastfeeding promotion requirements in DHM 150-24. Serves as an authoritative resource for nutrition and WIC program policy for staff.Works with staff to improve and increase the quality and efficiency of employee performance through regular monitoring and evaluation of work performed and by providing appropriate training. Assists in managing all day-to-day clinic functions working to ensure optimal client service delivery. Strategically plans, develops, coordinates, and implements program objectives, activities, and training to maintain standards of professional care while complying with Federal WIC regulations, Florida DOH, State WIC policy and Jackson CHD requirements. Provides employees with regular communication regarding job duties and assigned responsibilities, both individually and in staff meetings. Provides guidance and assistance to all department staff. Coordinates, provides and/or supervises WIC and Nutrition education programs.Assists and promotes breastfeeding education to meet the target indicators for successful breastfeeding rates. Attends breastfeeding training as appropriate.This position upholds the Certification of Acknowledgement-Section 215.422, Florida Statues, and Chapter 3A-24, Florida Administrative Code (Prompt Payment Law).Completes assigned duties in a timely manner according to agency protocol. Attends meetings, trainings, and performs other duties as required. Complies with all rules and regulations in the employee handbook. Completes timesheet and EARs as directed.Complies with Administrative Rule 44-4.080 (1)(a)(b) and Chapter 815, F.S., Florida Computer Crimes Act.
