Applications to be submitted by December 30, 2025 Compensation Grade: P16 Compensation Details: Minimum: $30,529.83 - Maximum: $30,529.83 Annually Department (OHEHR) AI - Bureau Of HIV/AIDS Epidemiology Job Description: This is a part time position (20 hours/week). Responsibilities The Public Health Specialist II will perform data collection activities for the CDC-sponsored Medical Monitoring Project (MMP), conducting lead generation, Spanish-speaking participant recruitment, and Spanish-speaking participant interviews for the New York State MMP project area. MMP is a nationally representative, population-based surveillance system that provides information about behaviors, clinical outcomes, and quality of care for people with HIV (PWH). MMP data is used in making policy decisions and in HIV funding and treatment services. MMP can answer important questions, such as: what barriers to HIV care, prevention, and support services are, what needs are being met and not met, and how HIV treatment is affecting people with HIV. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required for this position as it involves frequent communication, written and verbally, with Spanish-speaking clients. Please indicate your level of proficiency in both languages on your resume. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in public health, a related social science, health science, or related field and one year of experience in a public health, human services, or health related program/organization; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and three years of such experience; OR five years of related experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. Fluency in English and Spanish. Preferred Qualifications Experience with interviewing people in the setting of public health or other health related interview-based research. Knowledge of issues related to the provision of services to persons living with HIV/AIDS. Experience working on multiple projects/activities. Demonstrated excellent verbal communication skills. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required for this position as it involves frequent communication, written and verbally, with Spanish-speaking clients. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
