* Annual Salary Range: Up to $50,000

Position Description:

Provide management of records for the agency and ensure open records request are handled appropriately

* Oversee KORA process for agency

* Serve as Agency Records Officer

* Oversee the handling and disposal of records for the agency per record retention schedule

* Work with Executive Administrator to revise agency record retention schedule as needed

Regulation Management

* Knowledgeable regarding statues and regulations in the Nurse Practice Act

* Knowledge of the state approval process for regulation revisions

* Works with Board on possible revisions to regulations as to changing need of nursing and healthcare

* Presents drafts of revision to appropriate committees and the Board for review

* Facilitates draft regulation revisions through the state approval process

* Ensure up-to-date version of Nurse Practice Act is available on the KSBN website

Legislative Activities

* Act as legislative liaison by following and attending sessions as scheduled and relevant to the agency

* Assists Executive Administrator with summary and reports pertaining to legislative matters

Communication

* Compiles annual report of the Board functions

* Writes articles and assists in publication of quarterly newsletter

* Oversees the annual review of information on agency website and assists in updating of information as needed

* Promotes agency by serving on committees and representing the agency at meetings, as appropriate

* Works with agency leadership team to develop and review internal and external communications related to the agency

Emergency Management

* Oversees updating of agency COOP plan

* In addition to the above duties, the incumbent will be expected to perform other duties as needed and assigned

Minimum Qualifications

* Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in public administration or communication. *Experience may be substituted for education as determine relevant by the agency*

* Experience in legislative process and knowledge or state government

* Education and training in customer service

* Knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office programs

Preferred Qualifications

* 2+ years of experience in state government and public communication

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Considerable skills in written and verbal communication; public speaking

* Ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop, multimedia platforms, social media platforms and other software
