Minimum QUALIFICATIONS: Non-Competitive: Six years of experience in public relations, social media, and digital communications. Associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media, Digital Communications, or similar degree substitutes for two, four, or five years.Preferred Qualifications •Experience writing or producing content in various mediums.•Experience and understanding of key audience behaviors, messaging, and effective communication strategies.•Ability to manage multiple tasks under deadline and adjust to changing deadlines/priorities.•Excellent written and verbal communication skills and extreme attention to detail.•Four years or more of experience in communications, marketing, public or governmental relations or a related fieldDuties Description DUTIES DESCRIPTION: Duties include but are not limited to: •Develop a variety of high-quality communications materials, including correspondence, newsletters, press releases, talking points, scripts, websites, online surveys, and other materials.•Track correspondence, legislative inquiries, and data requests and prepare researched and well-manicured responses to ensure all messages are answered, consistent, easily understood, and appropriate for delivery to stakeholders. •Proofread, fact-check, and edit documents to ensure accuracy and clarity.•Collaborate with HESC's digital team to edit and update content on HESC websites, ensuring all information is current and relevant.•Create informative and engaging messages for social media sites and other digital platforms.•The creation of newsletters and text messages to students, counselors, and HESC staff on a regular schedule.•Develop, update, and manage reports and publications, including the HESC Annual Report. •Draft talking points, presentations, and other materials for HESC representatives. Review and edit presentations in which other HESC representatives will deliver. •Prepare and organize materials for the Board of Directors and other stakeholder meetings.•Work closely with various departments to ensure all communication efforts are aligned with HESC's mission and goals.•Coordinate with external partners and stakeholders to disseminate important information effectively.•Assist with special projects, the development of new programs, and other core agency activities.•Perform other duties as assigned.Additional Comments TELECOMMUTING INFORMATION: Initially positions work full-time in the office and a hybrid telecommuting schedule of up to 50% remote work can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview.
