Job Description:
We are currently looking for a Full Time Public Relations Officer to join our Public Relations Team team located at the Public Affairs working .Summary:Performs creative and professional work in maintaining a positive image and promoting engagement, education and awareness of the Chickasaw Nation.Responsibilities:* Manages and updates communication vehicles used to build awareness and educates others about the Chickasaw Nation* Works with designers and creative team to develop content for ads, mailers and other collateral* Oversight of conception and implementation of creative plans and production strategies for information about the Chickasaw Nation or programs and services it provides to both internal and external communication outlets* Prepares information, drafts press releases, correspondence, memorandums, letters, announcements, e-newsletters and creates website content designed to keep the public informed of Chickasaw Nation programs, services, accomplishments or points of view* Research's promotional opportunities and writes event scripts and nominations for departments of the Chickasaw Nation* Monitors areas outside the Chickasaw Nation for opportunities to promote the Chickasaw Nation* Performs public relation assignments as directed* Prepares reports as needed or requested* Maintains files, logs, and records* Routes, logs, prepares and/or distributes incoming and outgoing mail* Coordinates special projects as assigned* Performs all other duties as assignedCompetencies:Essential:* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral * Ensures compliance* Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Must be detail-oriented* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines* Understand Native American culture and tribal programs* Establishes professional working relationships as appropriate* Ability to plan, organize and follow through on assignments* Must work under hard deadlines* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management* Writes effective communications with team, departments, guests and managementSkills:Essential:* Basic Computer skillsNonessential:* Direct marketing strategy skills Experience:Education:Essential:* High School, GED or EquivalentNonessential:* Bachelors Degree in directly related fieldCredentials:Essential:* Pass gaming background check* Gaming license or permit as required by assigned position* Pass general background check* Standard Driver's LicenseWorking Conditions:Nonessential:* Pass pre-employment drug test* Works in an office setting* Computers, printers, phones* Sometimes bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach* Sometimes lift and or carry up to 25 lbs* Must be flexible with work schedule
