Position Summary:
The Public Relations Representative plays an important role in fundraising and public relations by working to strengthen donor relationships and achieve the organization's annually established fundraising goals.
The Public Relations Representative will assist with coordinating special events and fundraisers, including planning, logistics and outreach to current and prospect donors to secure funds to support the Agency. The position also works to maintain the donor files through a database, generate reports, create and process donation acknowledgements and thank you letters, public relations, media engagement and other projects as assigned.
In addition, the Public Relations Representative will help share Lifesteps mission by representing the Agency at events and engage staff and donors. This includes assisting with volunteer engagement, expo/fair coordination, and Agency history and photography as needed.
This Full-Time position works a Monday - Friday schedule of 8am to 4:30pm with occasional weekend and evening work.
Position Requirements:
* High School Diploma with 2 years of non-profit development, sales, communication, or public relations experience
* Advanced computer skills with expertise using the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, and Excel)
* Excellent verbal communication and in writing, editing, proofreading
* Must have valid Drivers License and proof of auto insurance
Preferred:
* Associate degree (preferably in public relations, marketing, communications, journalism, or a similar major) with one year experience
* Bachelor's degree (preferably in public relations, marketing, communications, journalism, or a similar major)
