Your job duties will take place at the Service Center, as well as in the field at customer sites when required. You will conduct work activities in a professional manner that reflects positively on the image of the company and conforms to current Health and Safety legislation, upholding KSB GIW Inc. Health and Safety Policies.RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs at a high standard in each area of responsibility, has tenacious and determined approachAssists in operation and maintenance of equipment as requiredAdheres to productivity metrics regarding efficiencyReads and interprets engineering drawings, assembly drawings, OEM manuals, and assembly/disassembly proceduresProficient in math calculations used for assemblyEnsures safe/correct lifting of parts in assemblyMonitors tool and equipment condition and maintenance statusOrganizes and operates all assembly equipment as needed and instructedOperates forklifts and cranes as neededFamiliar with all pump and bearing assembly partsAbility to correctly use machine shop measurement instruments, including micrometers, indicators, and scalesLocates and retrieves parts for pump assembliesPrepares/cleans assembly parts with solvents and cleanersAssembles and tests units per proceduresMoves materials and castings throughout the plant as directedKeeps organized records as instructedPerforms tactical and strategic problem solvingAssists in implementation of department goalsResponsible for housekeeping on the respective shift and work areasMakes recommendation to supervisors and manager for improvementsEnsures proper supplies are readily available when neededCompliant in all KSB GIW Inc. proceduresNotifies QC and appropriate persons on non-conforming productsAbility to work independently, prioritizing per customer demandsAble to make good, sound decisions - logical and analytical abilities welcomedProficient in all areas of AssemblyAbility to prepare and paint all parts and assemblies prior to shipment per proceduresPrepares all assemblies for safe shipment and handling per procedureDisassembles pump units for failure analysis and tabulate condition reportsInspects each individual pump component, documenting actual dimensions as receivedWorks with inventory controller to locate and label all units in warehouseOperates drills, grinders, milling machines, lathes, and other equipment in the machine shopPerforms machine shop work as needed on customer rebuilds and remanufactured unitsEnsures safe, correct setup of machine tool fixtures and partsUnderstands GD&T and engineering drawingsBasic welding and fabrication skillsAbility to train new employeesOther duties within the employee's capability that may be assigned by the Service Center Operations ManagerQUALIFICATIONS:High School diploma or GED required, two (2) year technical degree in machining considered a plusMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanics, repair, and/or rotating equipmentBasic knowledge of vibration and laser alignmentBasic field service experience and willingness to travel for service calls, sometimes for extended periods of timeKnowledge of gearboxes, turbines, mixers, and compressorsKnowledge of suction pumps, single-stage pumps, multi-stage pumps, split casing pumps, and vertical turbine pumpsGeneral machine shop knowledgeMust be able to work overtime on short notice when requiredAble to use various types of hand and power toolsAble to use various types of precision measuring toolsAbility to read and interpret metric / imperial measuring units.Willing to pursue further education and training as neededPossesses good judgment and decision making skillsPromotes safety and housekeeping at all timesAdheres to Company guidelines, rules, and policies regarding attendance, punctuality and safetyBasic computer literacyPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSFrequently: Standing, sitting, bending, squatting, kneeling, lifting, pushing, and pulling
