***This job has preference to qualified local job seekers within 60 miles of our Axis Odessa, TX facility.The Pump Operator will work along the rig or unit crew, performing a number of field tasks associated with the operation, rig up - rig down of the equipment, tools and related equipment in the shop, yard or customer location.The Pump Operator is responsible for operating and basic maintenance of all pumps and reverse units, including but not limited to 440hp skid mounted pumps, 600hp skid mounted pumps, 1000hp trailer mounted pumps, and 1500hp trailer mounted pumps. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Able to change, maintain fluid levels, change filters
- Repack high pressure pump, valves, seats, and testing pump
- Maintain a clean work area, clean of oil spills, fix leaks, housekeeping in all aspects
- Must keep all tools accounted for and keep tools in clean working order
- Uphold a professional appearance, and communicate well with others
- Participate in safety meetings
- Report unsafe acts or conditions to company representative, or manager
- Rig up and rig down equipment independently, operate equipment associated with pumping processes, including treatment procedures
- Rigging up pump iron, suction hoses, data cables
- Rigging down pump iron, suction hoses, and data cables
- Ensure that all Axis equipment is put back on Axis Pumping Services equipment
- Moving equipment accordingly and safely
- Able to operate a forklift, and manlift
- Work well together with crew, and be a team player
- Able to operate valves, and communicate when to close or opening valves, and communicate to all personnel necessary when pressure is bled off.
- Releasing pressure when the time is right, and knowing the flow direction of the flow
- Operating in a safe manner, walking the lines to know direction of flow
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED); some college is a plus.
- At least one (1) year of pump down or reverse unit experience operation with an oilfield service company
- Class A CDL, and able to get Hazmat, and Tanker Endorsement.
- Ability to perform maintenance service on the engine and pump and experience running high horsepower equipment in a safe, and professional manner.
- Experience running operating system for pumping equipment (Dragon, Rolligan, Lime, etc.)
- Must know how to operate a computer laptop and knowledge of Microsoft products such as Outlook (emailing) and Word, Excel (writing tickets, compiling data);
- Dependable communication (cell phone) and transportation (vehicle or means to get to worksite)
- Able to work a flexible schedule, with extended amounts of time away from home
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, push, pull, lift for extended times
- Ability to read, write and speak English to the extent of understanding verbal and written instructions and giving verbal and written instructions in English
- The ability to use simple mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals (addition, subtraction, division and multiplication) to make job related calculations
- Acceptable clearance of the Company's pre-employment requirements, including drug/alcohol screen, criminal history check and MVR
