Job Description:
OVERVIEW Cadrex is searching for a Punch Press Set-Up who will be responsible for setting up and preparing punch press machines for production. Your expertise in punch press equipment, tooling, and machine maintenance will ensure the accurate and efficient operation of the machines. By following work instructions, performing tool changes, and conducting quality checks, you will play a vital role in achieving production targets while maintaining high-quality standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up and prepare punch press machines for production runs, ensuring proper alignment and calibration
  • Review work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine machine settings, tooling requirements, and production parameters
  • Install and align tooling, such as dies, punches, and gauges, in the punch press machine
  • Perform tool changes, adjustments, and alignments as necessary to meet production requirements
  • Conduct quality checks and inspections on finished parts, verifying compliance with specifications and quality standards
  • Monitor machine performance during production runs, identifying and resolving any issues or malfunctions that may arise
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of punch press machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity
  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with production supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel to optimize machine performance and address any quality or productivity concerns
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in punch press set-up and operations
Requirements PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience as a Punch Press Set-Up or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of punch press machines, tooling, and operations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical specifications
  • Proficiency in setting up and aligning tooling, performing tool changes, and adjusting machine settings
  • Good understanding of quality control processes and the ability to conduct quality checks on finished parts
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve machine issues
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Physical stamina to perform manual tasks, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment and following established safety protocols

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear.
