Job Description:

Pride Health is hiring a Procurement - Purchasing Lead for one of its clients .

This is a 6+ month contract with a possible extension with competitive pay and benefits.

Job Title- Procurement - Purchasing Lead

Location – Greensboro, NC 27401

Pay range - $45- $47 per hour on W2.

Length of assignment – 6 +months possible extension

Shift – Schedule: Days : M-F 9 :00 am- 5:00 pm

Job Summary:

A Procurement - Purchasing Lead is a key role within the supply chain or procurement department, responsible for overseeing the procurement process and managing purchasing activities to ensure that goods and services are acquired efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with company policies. The role typically requires strong negotiation skills, supplier relationship management, and a deep understanding of procurement strategies.

Job Summary:

The Procurement - Purchasing Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating all purchasing activities within the organization. This includes sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and overseeing the purchasing process to meet the company's operational and strategic needs. The Purchasing Lead works closely with other departments to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Management: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong working relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery and favorable pricing.

Procurement Planning: Develop procurement strategies aligned with business objectives, forecast purchasing needs, and ensure alignment with production or operational schedules.

Purchasing Process Oversight: Lead the end-to-end purchasing process, including purchase order creation, approval, and tracking. Ensure that all transactions are accurate and comply with company policies.

Cost Optimization: Work to identify cost-saving opportunities, conduct market analysis, and develop strategies to reduce procurement expenses while maintaining quality and delivery standards.

Compliance & Reporting: Ensure that procurement practices comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements. Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities and prepare reports for management.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with departments such as finance, operations, and inventory management to align purchasing activities with overall business goals.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of purchasing specialists or assistants, providing training, guidance, and performance management.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

Skills:

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Analytical skills and ability to evaluate suppliers and pricing.

Knowledge of procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, SAP).

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Certifications (Preferred): CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or other relevant certifications in procurement and supply chain management.

This role is crucial in ensuring the organization's supply chain runs smoothly and that products or services are procured in a timely, cost-effective manner. The Purchasing Lead plays a pivotal role in driving procurement strategies and leading the team to achieve organizational goals.
