As the Purchasing Agent 2 will be responsible for the functions outlined below:
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
- Analyzes purchased requirements data to effectively communicate priorities and ensure on time delivery of purchased goods and services to Daniel Defense.
- Monitors open order reports, supplier forecasts and shipping schedules to coordinate the timely receipt of goods and services & communicate schedule changes including calling suppliers for purchase order acknowledgements, tracking information and updates to past due purchase orders.
- Communicates with suppliers to help continuously improve on time performance and simplify the supply chain. Fosters relationships with suppliers while ensuring accountability.
- Helps coordinate the return of non-conforming material or services by obtaining RMA's, creating return purchase orders and coordinating with the shipping department for timely return.
- Work with purchasing agents to ensure MRP purchase receipt dates match supplier schedules. Assist with updating purchase order dates systematically.
- Participate in shortage discussions and planning meetings to align planned deliveries with Supply Chain constraints.
- Assist with invoice discrepancies by calling suppliers for credit memo's, revised invoices and updating purchase orders with correct receipt quantities.
- Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations.
- Work closely with Supplier Quality and vendors to discuss nonconforming material and services to assist in the coordination of data for Root Cause Corrective Action
- Assist buyers with sourcing activities such as obtaining samples and shipping to suppliers.
- Works under immediate supervision.
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Participates in the company's efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
- Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment and a positive work environment
- Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's Degree with 2-4 years of experience, preferably in manufacturing, or a combination of related experience, education and/or training to sufficiently and successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.
- Work is closely managed.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within a manufacturing & Supply Chain environment.
- Teamwork and the ability to cooperate and work proactively with others is a must.
- Strong Analytical skills.
- Great attention to detail and excellent record keeping skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated; willing to put in extra effort and hours as needed.
- Competent with computer software such as Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook Word).
- 2 years MRP experience required at a minimum. INFOR experience a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and work in accordance with our Permission to Play Values.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting and bending throughout the work day.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy.
