- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

POSITION DESCRIPTIONThis position is located in Largo, FL. and is supervised by the Purchasing Bureau within the Division of Administration and Public Information at the Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs (FDVA), Largo, Florida. The position procures commodity and services contracts for FDVA, and is responsible for participating in providing daily purchasing support. The dependable candidate must have or be willing to acquire knowledge of government procurement and contracting requirements.
- The candidate will review requirements, specifications and descriptions outlined by the internal customer to ensure that all information pertaining to the contractor's obligations, products, services, and performance period, is clear, adequate and in compliance with current laws and regulations.
- Using various methods of procurement, the Purchase Agent III is responsible for purchasing a variety of specialized commodities and services specifically for State Veterans' Nursing Homes and/or Assisted Living Facilities.
- This position is also responsible for dealing with procurement requirements for the day to day operation in supporting all FDVA's Nursing Facilities as well as processing purchase requisitions and/or contracts, in accordance with State Statutes, laws, rules, FDVA Purchasing policies and administrative rules to help the agency achieve its mission.
- Supervised by the Purchasing Supervisor, and operates within the scope of Florida Statutes and Administrative Codes and FDVA Purchasing Policy.
- This position will also be working closely advising FDVA's Homes staff on recommendations for statements of work and procurement requirements to ensure receiving the best value for FDVA and the State of Florida.
- Acts as MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) Service Approver by reviewing all requirements, specifications and descriptions (statements of work) outlined by the customer to ensure that all information pertaining to the contractor's obligations, products, services, and performance period, is clear, adequate and in compliance with current laws and regulations.
- Issues purchase orders through the state's e-procurement system and prepares a variety of reports, correspondence, waivers, and forms required for procurement documentation and administrative processes.
- Assists in the preparation of specifications and correspondence regarding purchasing matters while maintaining accurate files.
- Works closely with the Purchasing Supervisor and Purchasing Officer.
- Provides guidance and assistance to internal customers on procurement and contract matters, the preparation of scopes of work, specifications, or other special requirements.
