ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

* Ensure continuity of supply for assigned commodity groups supporting final assembly, sub-assembly, fabrication, warehousing and aftermarket operations to meet 100% on time delivery

* Ownership of supplier relationship and management of schedule, order, release, expedite and timely receipt of necessary materials

* Maintain PO due dates and quantity changes on a regular basis and communicate changes to suppliers

* Monitor and review material planning requirements (MRP), purchasing activities, production and inventory levels for relevant time forward looking time periods against forecasts and recommends changes to material planning strategies, elevate for management discussion, provide supplier alerts and communication in a timely manner

* Utilize lean, continuous improvement tools and manage order parameters in MRP systems to meet and exceed WIP inventory goals

* Work with engineering, supplier quality and production functions to manage and flawlessly execute engineering change notices, new part qualifications and new product launches

* Negotiate price, terms, quantities, and deliveries for contractual agreements between Taylor and suppliers without compromising quality standards.

* Ownership of formulating and executing strategies to deliver material productivity commitments including pricing, long term agreements and engineering driven cost reductions

* Utilize best practices and company standard work to manage and flawlessly execute supplier work transition and new production launch on a standalone basis or as part of a larger program team

* Work with purchasing manager to improve techniques, methods, standards and procedures used for supplier evaluations and selection

Desired Capabilities:

Candidate should be grounded in a fundamental understating of the supply chain, including manufacturing capacity, execution and logistics.

Five or more years of either plastics or casting commodity experience.

Understanding and experience in lean concepts such as 5S, Kanban, Value-Streams and One-Piece Flow is a plus.

Self-directed, detail-oriented individual with a strong sense of ownership and accountability capable of managing multiple-tasks to completion in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work effectively and influence others in a diverse and dynamic work environment

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

Advanced level skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education / Experience: The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in business or related field with three-to-five years' experience in purchasing and/or planning in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Preferred candidate will have 5+ years of either plastics or casting commodity experience.
