Purchasing AgentNew Way TrucksThis position reports to the Purchasing Manager for Scranton Manufacturing and is responsible for source selection and procurement functions.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSSecure and analyze quotations; negotiate prices and terms with suppliers; recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness to the Purchasing Director.Maintain and develop positive relations with suppliersContact suppliers regarding material problems and support resolutionGenerate and place orders, taking maximum advantage of combining orders for reduced or free freightTrack the status of all ordersKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESBachelor's Degree preferred3-5 years of related experience preferredStrong communications skillsStrong organizational skillsBasic accounting skillsProficient with Microsoft Office products and procurement softwareThis job description describes the general nature and level of work expected of a person assigned to this position.
