Job Title: Purchasing Manager Reports To: Controller FLSA Status: Exempt Supervisory Responsibilities: No - Individual Contributor Job Summary:Under the direction of the Controller oversees efficient and cost-effective purchasing orders, requisitions and vendor relations. Maintains stock levels for products and contracts with vendors as needed for services. Assists with monthly, quarterly and annual budget reviews.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.
  • Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.
  • Prepares and presents market conditions and merchandise cost reports.
  • Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.
  • Evaluates and approves conditions for issuing and awarding bids.
  • Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems.
  • Acts as the company's representative in negotiations with suppliers.
  • Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials.
  • Administers the departmental budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires predominately sedentary work such as sitting at a desk and computer for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Work is performed in an office setting with limited exposure to loud noises, odors, extreme variances in temperature or other environmental factors.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times without assistance.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred, consideration given to candidates with experience in lieu of education.
  • At least three years of experience in a related field required.
Salary, Schedule and Benefits:
  • $65,000 - $80,000 per year with potential for discretionary bonus.
  • Full-time, day shift, Monday through Friday. May work occasional overtime as needed.
  • Short-term and long-term disability paid for by the company, 1 week PTO / Sick, 1 week vacation after 90 days, increase in vacation after 1 year.
