Job Summary:The Purchasing Manager will oversee supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure financial transactions comply with company policies. This role is integral to the Gainesville lead team, reporting directly to the Plant Manager.Required Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school.
  • Minimum of (3) three years purchasing/management experience and/or 5+ years' relevant management, operations, or supply chain experience.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is helpful, but not required.
  • Perform basic math skills (add, subtract, divide, multiply) and use calculator.
  • Prior experience operating mobile equipment including a forklift or Combi is helpful, but not required.
  • Prior experience in Oracle systems.
  • Maintains records of goods ordered and received.
  • Knowledge of purchase department best practices.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
  • Responsible for sourcing of suppliers and contracting necessary trades and vendors.
  • Evaluate supplier competence, cost savings and competitive position to provide value to the Gainesville operation.
  • Negotiates with vendors for goods and services, the best possible price and service guarantee.
  • Reviews invoices with discrepancies and rectify them.
  • Verifies the transactions comply with Hydro's financial policies & procedures, enters and generates purchase orders.
