Job Description:
The Purchasing Manager is a key leader responsible for managing all procurement activities. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, this role manages the daily procurement activities with focus on total cost of acquisition and mitigation of supply risk, process improvements, systems enhancement, and personnel growth. This role is critical in leading the team to improve our position for growth. Key metrics will be focused on material availability and inventory turns with an emphasis on efficiency improvement. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Plan and manage the company's ingredient and packaging inventory
  • Stay in tune with and understand company's operations needs and requirements
  • Build and manage relationships with vendors and key suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing and control costs
  • Manage team KPI's and OKR's
  • Develop a yearly budget depending on procurement and inventory needs
  • Execute analyses and make suggestions for improvement of overall procurement strategy
  • Keep abreast of industry and market trends and best practices
  • Adhere to all relevant guidelines and regulations
  • Support NPD initiatives
  • Comply with GMP, personal hygiene, HACCP and other quality and employee safety programs
  • Responsible for maintaining and enforcing all food safety, employee safety and quality policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years in a purchasing management role
  • Proven team development skills

  • Great communication, interpersonal and networking skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact when working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects and adapt to changing deadlines

  • Strong computer skills, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • CPM or CPSC is a bonus
