I. Position DescriptionThe Purchasing Manager drives competitive advantage and value creation for the organization through thoughtful strategy development of sourcing initiatives and inventory management. The Purchasing Manager will manage, plan, implement and execute procurement initiatives impacting Ecobat operations through individuals allocated under her/his supervision and through the Procurement Structure, by coaching and mentoring, collaborating with various departments and building effective business relations both internally and externally.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates and manages all purchasing and goods receipts responsibilities
- Attends daily and weekly operations and maintenance meetings
- Manages high level projects and initiatives specific to business unit
- Negotiates long-term agreements
- Coordinates with corporate category managers to ensure national strategy is implemented and followed
- Facilitates prompt responses to expedite requests and emergency orders
- Ensures that team members are following corporate policies regarding purchasing and goods receipts
- Analyzes and reports out on weekly and monthly financial metrics to corporate leadership
II. Qualifications
- 7 years purchasing experience, preferred in manufacturing industry
- Bachelor's degree required (business, supply chain management, or related field)
- Experience in SAP a plus
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Self-starter who can build sourcing/procurement credibility within groups not accustomed to working with procurement
- Ability to work on-site 4-days a week
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
III. Physical Requirements & Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
