Tmall Global currently offers products from 87 countries and regions and 29,000+ brands across all consumer categories. Brands of all sizes are interested in selling into the Chinese market. They have different objectives and strategies and are in various stages of market entry so a one-size-fits-all solution would not work for everybody. At Tmall Global, we offer different solutions to provide more options so brands can be setup for success. Our business development and buying teams play a critical role in providing resources and guidance to help merchants tap into the Chinese market.
We are seeking a BD(business development) to join our U.S. team covering the Americas region. You can be based in Los Angeles or New York and work closely with our headquarter team in Hangzhou, China!
You will have these major responsibilities:
1: Identify the consumer demand in China especially for cross border market.
2: Establish strong and long-term relationships with strategic partners/brands/governments in America Market.
3: Build and execute strategic business development plans, and drive mutually beneficial programs with our strategic partners/Brands.
4: Formulate marketing strategies and conduct market research for America Market.
5: Offer customized cross border business solution to New Brands and help to onboard on Tmall Global successfully.
Job Requirement:
1. Minimum 5 years relevant experience in digital marketing and/or e-retailing industry.
2. Bachelor/Master degree in business, marketing, computer science or relevant field of study.
3. Willingness to travel within America Market and sometimes back to China.
4. Fluent both in English & Chinese is a MUST.
5. Preferable experience in Luxury goods, Leisure clothing, Outdoor sports, Beauty& Cosmetics, Nutrition supplements, Food and Beverage etc.
6. Ability to think strategically and execute methodically. Adept at making data-driven decisions . Acute sense of judgment, tact and diplomacy.
