Job Description:

VENTEON Finance is hiring a PURCHASING MANAGER to provide support for a Non-Profit organization in Detroit, MI. This organization supports multiple programs that ensure people have access to shelter, food, water, education, health care and mental health programs. POSITION TYPE: Full Time. Contract to Hire. Hybrid after training (3 days in office, 2 days remote).

Requirements of the Purchasing Manager:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience supporting a non-profit organization a major plus.
  • Minimum five years of work experience in purchasing or procurement activities.
  • Experience in soliciting quotes, analyzing proposals, managing contracts and purchase orders.
  • Strong organization, negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Accounting skills for budget development, oversight and management.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP Systems.

Duties of the Purchasing Manager:

  • Oversee and manage company procurement activities. Perform research and ensure competitive pricing for materials, services and equipment.
  • Manage vendors, purchase orders, commercial insurance certificates and 1099s.
  • Ongoing evaluation of vendors performance on service and pricing. Research and add vendors as needed. Manage the vendor database.
  • Solicit bids from multiple sources to ensure competitive pricing and optimal quality. Analyze proposals and recommend vendor of choice. Award business.
  • Oversee, manage and track purchase orders in the system. Monitor and approve POs.
  • Monitor spending budgets, ensure purchasing activities align with goals.
