Location: Pittsfield,ME, USA
Reporting to the Vice President of Estimating, you will be responsible for post-project award purchasing for a growing company with a 70-year track record of success. Operating in 41 states through numerous entities and name brands the company generates $1B in annual revenue. Qualified candidates much have excellent communication skills and strong leadership qualities. The role will interact closely with all levels of management, estimating, and project teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
Job Responsibilities
* Communicates and enforces purchasing policies and internal controls.
* Leverages Cianbro's buying power, relationships, and expertise across Cianbro markets and companies to maximize cost savings.
* Negotiates commercial terms and conditions with subcontractors, service providers, and suppliers.
* Manages federal and state work exposure by ensuring team members understand flow-down requirements, setting up centralized processes as needed, and staying current on key issues.
* Manages evaluation and approval of subcontractors.
* Conducts subcontractor/supplier outreach for small, minority, women-owned and disadvantaged businesses. Tracks, monitors and reports MBE/WBE/SBE utilization with public and private owners.
* Manages subcontractor compliance for prime contract flow-downs, bonds, insurance, sales tax, and payment/retainage.
* Prepares and develops purchasing strategies and recommended methods for projects for review and presentation to senior project management.
* Enforces Cianbro's standards of business ethics, safety and quality assurance with subcontractors and suppliers.
* Continues to build upon the culture of continuous improvement and best practices for areas of responsibility and support cross transfer of knowledge and expertise across markets, projects and back-office functions.
* Mentors purchasing team members as to the requirements and procedures of the business unit, project, and client.
* Completes team member performance evaluations, compensation reviews, and disciplinary reports.
Qualifications/Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in construction management, business, engineering, supply chain management, or equivalent degree.
* 10+ years of construction experience.
* Demonstrated progression in experience and responsibility in procurement/purchasing, including strategic planning, contract management, negotiations, technology assessment, systems implementation, and administration.
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Experience with developing Minority Business Plans and reporting.
* Experience managing federally-funded projects and Federal Acquisition Regulation compliance.
