Job Description:

Mission of the Role (What you will be doing)

The Buyer contributes to a high-quality customer experience by ensuring the reliability, availability and appropriate quantities of stock and on-hand inventory are available when they are needed to meet customer needs. This will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, creating and maintaining an inventory, quality assurance, and liaising with inventory teams and management. The buyer will work with team members across departments to manage minimum/maximum inventory levels and the business needs and make purchase decisions based on demand and in step with SupplyOne's procurement standards and practices.

Key Duties & Accountabilities (Primary responsibilities & quantifiable measurements)

  • Process and confirm POs or communicate ordering needs on the day they appear in REACT; reply to all emails by end of business day.
  • Maintain and update price lists, manage open POs, back orders, and inventory levels; alert Customer Service to changes.
  • Resolve vendor issues promptly, facilitate new suppliers' ISO evaluations, and negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
  • Monitor sales records and economic trends to forecast inventory needs, control stock levels, and assist with slow-moving inventory.
  • Build relationships with suppliers, serve as a backup for merchandiser functions, and act as a liaison with Customer Service, Sales, Design, Manufacturing, Shipping, and Corporate Strategy.

Educational/Training Requirements/Experience (What your background should look like)

  • Bachelor's in Business or Retail & Business Management preferred (not required)
  • 5+ years of purchasing experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) - Preferred not required
  • Strong critical thinking, negotiation skills, and knowledge of sales and marketing principles.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and demonstrate initiative in development.
  • Basic arithmetic skills, attention to detail, high level of ethics and personal integrity, and cross-functional influencing and conflict management skills.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
