Job Description:
SUMMARYSupports activities and leads processes involved with procuring and replenishing inventory goods for our Sentriclad product offering and other assigned product/vendor groups to achieve inventory and customer service objectives by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Assists the Sentriclad Product Manager and purchasing team in maintaining records such as items purchased, new item additions, costs, price lists, delivery performance, product quality or performance, inventory levels and inventory performance ( i.e. overstock, excess, DNR)., utilizing spreadsheets, graphics, word processing, and/or presentation computer software.
  • Maintains E3 Vendor and item set up for the Sentriclad upstream supply chain, including forecast, lead time, buying multiples, carton quantities, vendor minimums, load factors (includes weights and measures), seasonal profiles and service level objectives so that maximum return is realized on inventory investment.
  • Uses multiple systems including purchasing software (E3), processing software (Real Steel), and ERP system (SD1) to maintain product records, process work orders, and manage all processes involved with Sentriclad supply chain management.
  • Manages the metal painting process by coordinating inbound material to metal coaters, issuing paint orders to maximize paint runs and cost efficiency, completing cost accounting and arranging transportation outboard to our metal processing sites.
  • Collaborates with the Processing Centers and Sentriclad Product Manager on raw material requirements for stock and jobs, and amends system and product flow as necessary.
  • Communicates information and reports delivery dates, product information and vendor changes to Processing Centers and Sentriclad Product Manager
  • Communicates any lead time or production changes to the Sentriclad Product Manager
  • Collaborates with Processing Centers to assist with lead time quoting for Sentriclad Products, including delayed material, or material outside of stocking strategies
  • Maintains and replenishes target stock levels at processing sites; recommends changes to stock levels to maximize service and inventory turn goals.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely work order entry of Sentriclad raw materials
  • Provides support to Product Manager to foster relationships with manufacturers which produces most favorable pricing, service, and incentives to the company.
  • Organizes, shops and releases freight carriers to ship needed inventory from outside processors/coaters into steel processing facilities or distribution branches on time for required service levels.
  • Coordinates internal freight services to pick up and return from outside processors/coaters.
  • Works closely with Sentriclad PM, suppliers, and others to support claims process by helping determine root cause and identify corrective action for defective or unacceptable goods
  • Monitors and reports damaged/dead/overstocked inventory to expedite the handling of this material via the sales team, vendor returns, transfers and /or scrapping
  • Supports Sentriclad PM and others with scrap reconciliations when needed
  • Responsible for additional supply chain support including order expediting, back-order tracking, forecast exception reporting, AP variances, and other activities.
  • Manage and/or participate in Supply Chain special projects and programs as assigned.
  • Attend meetings and conference calls to provide analytical support.
  • Travels as necessary for meetings with branch/steel processing centers, suppliers, and training.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume will be needed.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWork involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most duties are performed from a seated position. There is potential for eye strain from reading detailed materials and looking at a computer screen. Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboards at a moderate skill level.The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. WORK ENVIRONMENTThe noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
