A DAY IN THE LIFEEnthalpy Analytical, a subsidiary of Montrose Environmental Group, is currently seeking a full-time QA Associate II to join our El Dorado Hills, CA team. The QA Associate II assists in maintaining and expanding laboratory accreditations by reviews and tracks laboratory Quality Control data, workflow, and procedures with the goal of meeting regulatory and client requirements.As a key member of the QA team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
Essential Job Functions:- Work with QA Director to maintain State and Federal accreditations by completing renewal and modification applications, and identifying and documenting requirements for applications to expand laboratory's list of accreditations
- Develop ongoing improvements to internal procedures and work instructions developed by the laboratory's technical staff
- Collect, review and interpret laboratory quality control data for performance and trends (method detection and quantitation limit studies, performance testing samples, control charts, review of raw data and client reports)
- Maintain employee training files; work with managers to schedule ongoing training and develop new training materials; provide QA/QC training to staff members
- Track and calibrate support equipment
- Organize and control laboratory documents, including procedures, forms, training records
- Perform internal audit activities as directed by the QA Director
- Comply with Enthalpy's Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Plans
- Other duties as assigned
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLSTo perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or related sciences
- 2 - 3 years previous professional laboratory experience•
Preferred Skills & Experience: - 2 - 3 years' experience as an analyst and/or Project Manager in an environmental testing laboratory
- Experience reviewing and interpreting chromatographic data
- Working knowledge of analytical laboratory processes and procedures
- Ability to collaborate with lab team members to gain an understanding of laboratory processes, gather, interpret and consolidate data, generate documents and reports
- Good problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of MSWord, Excel and database applications
- Detail oriented
- Time management skills
- Good editorial and proofreading skills
