Our operations are located 60 miles southwest of Portland in Oregon's agriculturally fertile Willamette Valley.Job Title:Quality Assurance CoordinatorDate:08/12/2024Job Description: The QA Coordinator will oversee supplier quality management, ensure the timely calibration of critical equipment, and support various quality assurance functions within our food production environment. This role involves managing supplier approval processes, reviewing incoming materials, and maintaining accurate quality documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The QA Coordinator plays a vital role in upholding our commitment to product quality and safety.Responsibilities
- Manage the Supplier Approval Program, including updating the supplier approval list, renewing annual certificates, and conducting quarterly updates.
- Notify and update suppliers if they have not been used within 60 days.
- Review and verify incoming Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for ingredients, including dry and IQF materials, ensuring compliance with macro requirements.
- Develop and maintain a schedule for the calibration of all critical equipment, such as scales, moisture analyzers, refractometers, packaging transmitters, water activity meters, metal detectors, and magnets.
- Supervise the Quality Utility specialist: Oversee the grading of fruit and ensure compliance with established quality standards, water sampling
- Create and maintain supplier scorecards to evaluate and report on the quality of ingredients and supplier performance.
- Coordinate with the Shipping receiving specialist (SRS) program, working closely with shipping and receiving teams to manage supplier documentation.
- Send reminders for the expiration dates of supplier certifications and other critical documents.
- Assist in preparing for and participating in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Maintain accurate records of all QA activities, including supplier approvals, calibration records, and audit findings.

- Technical associate's degree preferred (Food Science,), high school diploma and at least one year of food quality experience.
- Excellent PC skills with MS office products.
- Experience with 3rd party Food audits
- Experience with HACCP, PCQI, GMP's and food safety standards.
- Knowledge of food quality systems (FSSC 22000, BRC or SQF) preferred.
- Detail oriented with high degree of focus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to train others.
