Linetec Status: Non- Exempt Pay Level: 3 Plant/Department: Paint Plant- Quality Assurance Reports to: Production Supervisor Summary of Position: Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for conducting a thorough inspection of material entering the QA area and ensuring that accurate data is promptly and properly recorded electronically. Responsibilities include reading and understanding Linetec, Customer, and American Architectural Manufacturer's Association (AAMA) specifications and utilizing and calibrating test and measurement equipment. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and make timely decisions is required. Essential Duties:
- Organizing paperwork at the beginning of the shift
- Obtaining correct color standards
- Verifying that the indicated exposure on the drawing is painted / adequately covered
- Viewing finished surfaces for physical defects
- Properly identifying material
- Calibrating test and measurement equipment
- Using test and measurement equipment to measure color, gloss, and film thickness
- Recording test results in proper spreadsheet(s)
- Recording temperature of heat tapes in proper spreadsheet
- Recording sent around materials in proper spreadsheet
- Effectively communicating with QA Data Entry
- Effectively communicating with Inside Sales
- Communicating service needs to the QA Supervisor
- Maintaining necessary supplies and communicating needs to the QA Supervisor
- Other Duties as assigned
- Flex into other areas as needed
- Apply Lean principles in own work performance and drive Lean applications in company operations
Required Skills: - Basic math skills
- Must be able to read and understand production schedule and die prints
- Basic computer skills- (Keyboarding/Typing)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with OptiFinish, Epicor, or Microsoft Outlook a plus
