Summary:

Since 1996, Polara has designed and manufactured the most durable, technologically advanced, ADA-compliant and pedestrian-friendly crosswalk devices available. Polara's top priority is pedestrian safety by producing high quality products. The inspector role is vital to the company as they work with several teams to ensure the quality of the manufactured product. The QA Inspector performs first article, receiving, in-process inspection, and tests on parts, assemblies and sub-assemblies. This role supports and assists in determining methods, sequences, and procedures necessary for inspection. With an extraordinary level of attention to detail the QA inspector promotes and advances product quality objectives in an ISO9001 environment.

Schedule: 7am- 4pm

JOB DUTIES: Include but are not limited to the following:

* Review protocols, qualification, and validation procedures documented by the organization to follow in inspections

* Follow Quality Systems, ISO (International Organization of Standardization) and QSRs (Quality System Regulations), and works with Engineers, Production Supervisors, Quality Management, and other manufacturing personnel to resolve quality issues

* Perform inspection tasks involving the use of a wide variety of test instruments and equipment to measure values and record functional operations of components

* Determines acceptability, identifies and recommends disposition of defective items in accordance with released procedures

* Create Corrective Action Reports, scrap reports, non-conformance reports and any other quality records

* Stop production when needed and escalate discrepancies to management as needed

* Assist in creating quality documentation and procedures

* Effectively communicate non-conformances to appropriate supervisors/managers and take appropriate action to mitigate further issues

* Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards

* Establish high performance standards by meeting deadlines and pursuing efficiency

* Follow and comply with all company safety policies and procedures

* Mentor/train other quality associates on procedures

* Other duties as assigned by Quality Management

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Able to read and understand mechanical drawings, material lists and inspection standards

* Ability to learn and correctly apply new skills

* Ability to use electronic test equipment and mechanical inspection tools efficiently

* Use visual inspection tools to qualify solder quality to IPC-A-610 standards.

* Flexible; able to adapt easily to shifting priorities and adjust to change in a fast-paced manufacturing work environment.

* Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

* Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and follow-through

* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

* Must have professional courage, high integrity and strong work ethic

* Effectively communicate and understand instructions both verbally and written in the English language and able to train others

* Reliable, dependable and able to work overtime when required

* Able to work in a team environment and take direction well

* Excellent understanding of ISO 9001:2015 plus Quality Assurance Software

* Analytical mind with sound decision-making skills

* Ability to think strategically

* Computer literacy, proficient in the use of Microsoft office and inventory control software (Database reporting and pivot table experience a plus).

Education/Experience

* 4 years recent experience working in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment

* Must have experienced with Quality Management Systems

* High School Diploma or Equivalent

* Vocational or trade school preferred

* Electronics manufacturing/inspection experience
