DescriptionSummary2nd Shift The Quality Assurance Lab Molder is responsible for product molding of production, sample, experimental products, and incoming resins. The molded test specimens are labeled, stored, and submitted for mechanical, conductive, and FR testing or packaged for shipment. This individual will closely interact with the QA Lab In-Process Technician, QA Manager and Molding Supervisor as well as other QA molders. Work Schedule: 2nd shift. The hours are 3-11pm Monday through Friday with overtime as required including weekend work. Employees are assigned to a rotating A or B shift. NOTE: Training will take place on the 1st shift for 1-2 weeks then may start overlapping shifts for training. Responsibilities
  • Performs injection molding on test specimens, panels, and pucks.
  • Follows drying, mold/press set-up, and specimens' required guidelines provided in the Molding Specification and reads comments in the Molding Queue list and sample container.
  • Collaborates with the QA lab In-Process Technician, QA Manager, Molding Supervisor, Engineers, and other QA employees to assure the best results are obtained and documented.
  • Ensures proper labeling of specimens and retains.
  • Notifies QA Manager of Quality concerns found within the molding sample provided.
  • Maintains retain samples of both pellet and molded forms.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned, or apparent.

Education and Experience
  • High School degree preferred.
  • Machine operation experience
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Troubleshooting ability
  • Forklift experience or ability to be trained and certified.
  • Prior similar experience preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsRegularly
  • Required to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Communicates via phone, email, in person.
  • Lift and/or move up to 60 lbs.
  • Talk and hear to coordinate day-to-day phone and in person transactions
  • Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemical agents.

  • Operates a computer and uses other office equipment such as a copy machine, and printer.
Occasionally
  • Sit
  • Handle (with mechanical equipment) up to 250 pounds.
  • Exposed to hazardous materials as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication standard.
Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
