Job Description:

Professional Summary:

As a QA Lead/Manager, you manage QA activities to support products and services that meet IT and Business user expectations and requirements for our Investment Management client based in San Francisco. Currently, QA is decentralized with no overall formal QA process. You will establish a QA program and structure and manage the QA function, while also working hands-on and as an active participant in testing activities. The scope will include large projects including Charles River upgrade, middle and back-office migrations, and home-grown business/operations focused on investment application systems. It also requires coordinating and working with offshore/nearshore teams.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Build a new team and establish a more formal QA program structure.
  • Lead the engineering and testing function, with experience in building the Quality function at an investment manager/asset manager company.
  • Prepare and implement test automation solutions, addressing QA needs for different projects.
  • Contribute to and lead project deliveries in terms of QA automation.
  • Work independently to define the QA automation target state and unify QA teams working on different projects.
  • Promote best practices around quality and code/script coverage, and enhance team performance.
  • Conduct proof-of-concept evaluations for application systems on selected frameworks.
  • Interact confidently at all levels of project management.
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic, innovative, and multi-cultural team/business environment.
  • Collaborate hands-on with team members.
  • Manage QA lead responsibilities.

Basic Requirements:

  • At least 15 years of experience in an engineering/QA environment.
  • 5 years of experience defining and leading QA solutions, methodology, and automation testing.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in software testing fundamentals, test design, and testing theory with complex systems.
  • 5 years of experience working with complex systems through the full development life cycle.
  • 3 years of strong experience testing .NET applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with integration between systems, Snowflake/Azure data, data flows, infrastructure test automation, websites, etc.
  • Demonstrated management/leadership experience.
  • Experience with financial services investment management companies.
  • Experience in REST APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of tools such as Azure tools and CI/CD.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Charles River, Eagle Investments, State Street, EZE Castle, Bloomberg, Factset, ICE, and/or other investment management applications/tools (nice to have).
