Job Description:
Job Summary: The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for supervising department staff to ensure the products follow federal, state, and local food safety laws. This position serves as well as SQF practicioner for the facility, and must ensure the Safety program is maintainedResponsible for testing, inspecting, and adjusting products during production so that internal specifications are met. Will liaise with R&D, Production, and Sales on a routine basis. Required Skills/Abilities: Strong analytical and communication skills Bilingual (Spanish/English) Food Microbiology/Food Science or Engineering Background Responsibilities: Develop and implement quality assurance policies, procedures, and systems in compliance with FDA, USDA, and other regulatory bodies. Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, SQF, and other relevant food safety certifications. Conduct regular internal audits, and implement corrective action to improve processes. Participate in mock recall traceability exercise in conjunction with Food Safety senior Management. Oversee QA functions on the production floor to ensure they meet specifications. Manage Customer complaints and work with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and develop corrective actions. Provide leadership and training to the QA team to maintain a high-performance culture focused on quality and safety Responsible for developing the Microbiological Guideline Monitoring Program in collaboration with Food Safety senior management Responsible for all records review/records maintenance. Responsible for all Regulatory Plant Inspections and third-party audits . Collaborates with QA and production staff on: Sanitation Plan and Cleaning Procedures Compliance with Regulatory directives regarding intervention steps for the control of pathogens Training and special projects Pest Control Daily plant issues and operations Creating and maintaining Product Specification Books Responsible for coverage of QA Technician responsibilities as required (i.e., vacation; sick days) Responsible for creating any additional Excel forms for records. Update forms as needed on the company intranet Education/Experience: Knowledge of GMPs, USDA, HACCP, and SQF or GFSI Computer literate in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. Bachelor's Degree in science or associate degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a food plant or pharmaceutical environment Compensation details: 67000-70000 Yearly Salary PI9512b7c46489-25448-#######2
