Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Audits line to make sure codes, packaging supplies are correct
- First time right sheet is being filled out correctly
- Check weight control sheet every 1hr
- Document results in system
- Follow compliance for corrective action if needed
- Audits for cleanliness
- Helps Inspects clean lines and helps perform clean equipment swabs
- Ensure packaging integrity test is performed correctly
- Performs Evergreen and Tetra Top line checks every hour
Environmental Testing
- Performs environmental swabs weekly
- 10 environmental swabs will be taken each week in various zones throughout the blending and production processing areas. They are then tested for Salmonella and listeria.
- Notification of the results. If any positive counts are present in any of the environmental testing appropriate action is taken and documented with retesting and quarantine as part of the process.
- Swabs are to be done on specific equipment after the cleaning process to ensure that the equipment is indeed getting clean. These are tested for Coliform, Yeast and Mold.
- Collect samples of lines and take them to incubation room.
- Collect Plant water samples testing is done once a weekly for the presence of Coliform.
- Cross training on all jobs in the lab
Equipment Calibration (Using Proper Calibration Procedures)
- Calibration checks on all Pipettes once per month with documentation
- Scale Calibration Checks on a monthly basis and documented
- All Thermometers checked against a certified Thermometer every quarter with results documented.
- Colony Counter Checked on a monthly basis and recorded.
- Any out of compliance calibration checks will be documented and reported, with corrective action taken.
- Control and update and monitor the MSDS Micro Book
- Proper disposal of all Biohazard waste
- Record required documentation of all Incubation and refrigeration temperatures
- Participate and sign off on yearly training and certifications
- Create and revise SOPs
- Train new employees as needed including annual training.
- Regularly conduct inventories and order supplies as needed.
- Mandatory Lab Uniforms, Hair Covers and will be worn at all times in the Micro Lab.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or college degree (A.A.+ degree helpful).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a plus
- Experience with a DCS is a plus

- Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders; written and verbal.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
