Position Summary

Performs QC activities to ensure product conformance. Primary responsibilities include in process part inspection and testing, process audits, and quality related support to Manufacturing, Engineering, and other departments. This position will also perform verification of corrective actions and support the Final and Heat Treat Labs as needed. THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION.

Responsibilities and Duties

Conduct inspections and/or tests to verify product conformance. Depending on assignment, may work with set-ups (grain flows), parts in process (heat treat inspection), finished product (final inspection including salt spray and embrittlement), subcontracted parts, or tooling.

Writes IMI on parts that do not meet specification. Makes sure discrepant product is tagged. Completes all re-inspections. Communicates with responsible departments, and or suppliers regarding any discrepancies.

Report nonconformance's and with assistance, determines dispositions and process deviations. Initiate, or take a key role in problem resolution, improvement activities, and prevention measures.

Perform ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 14001, TS16949 Internal Audits, or other internal audits as required. Assist Supervisor during external audits including responding to corrective actions.

Perform and/or support SPC activities.

Provide assistance, information, and instruction to quality department personnel and other departments on quality-related issues.

Initiate, complete, or verify records documenting quality assurance activities to assure compliance to internal procedures, customer requirements, and ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 14001, and TS16949 standards.

Other duties as assigned by your Supervisor.

Education, Knowledge, Sills & Abilities

Ability to read production drawings and customer parts.

Solid understanding of fastener characteristic's and fastener defects.

Proficiency with gages, measuring equipment, and testing equipment including but not limited to micrometers, tri-roll gages and optical comparators.

Excellent verbal and written skills.

Solid computer knowledge, experience with Google Documents and Spreadsheets.

Working knowledge of SPC and TQM principles.

Required HSD/GED or equivalent experience.

Previous QC experience in a metal manufacturing environment a plus.
