- Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced
- Performing and Approving the quality of raw materials before manufacturing begins
- Read and understand blueprints and specifications
- Monitor or observe operations to ensure that they meet production standards
- Recommend adjustments to the process or assembly
- Measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
- Accept or reject finished items
- Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications
- Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products
- Report inspection and test data
- Do incoming, in-process, and final inspection
- Perform Receiving, 1st Piece and In-Process Inspections for work in process during manufacture
- Verify and document that materials are manufactured to blueprint requirements
- Maintain acceptable quality levels during manufacture of products and assemblies
Requirements
- 3 years min related work experience required
- Education HS Diploma required, technical school or college degree a plus
- Must have the ability to identify and resolve problems, effectively manage change and deal with conflict in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with calipers, and micrometers, performing First Article inspection in accordance with AS9100 in process and final inspection processes a plus
- Knowledge of operating electronic inspection equipment, such as coordinate-measuring machines (CMMs) a plus
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently, within prescribed guidelines, or as a team member
- Knowledge of MRP software systems and experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems are a plus
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 5S, and/or Lean Manufacturing a plus
- Aerospace product knowledge a plus
