Quality Control Technician, you will conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests of liquid paint samples and analyze test data for quality control purposes. Tests will include wet properties such as viscosity, density, and percent non-volatile. You will work with professionals, engineers, scientists, and project leaders to plan, construct, test, and document laboratory work!
This is a 2nd Shift position working the hours of 3.00PM to 1.30AM (10 hrs shift M-Th) with the ability to work some overtime on Fridays (4hrs 10:00AM-2:00PM). You will work an onsite role in a 2nd Shift and report to the Quality Assurance Manager.Key Responsibilities- Ensure that accurate safety procedures and housekeeping are maintained and conduct work in a manner that protects yourself, co-workers, and the environment.
- Perform tinting, panel preparation, paint and coating evaluation, digital and visual color matching, and color quality control to support a variety of efforts.
- Follow procedures to perform routine laboratory procedures.
- Evaluate the physical characteristics of raw materials and products such as permeability, disintegration and crystal growth viscosity.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment with limited supervision and will keep in clean condition (5S).
- Report results (in charts, graphs, tables, and reports) to meet project requirements.
- Participate in the quality process and maintain requirements for the laboratory.
Qualifications- High School Diploma/GED required, with a degree demonstrating chemistry, math, mechanical, or engineering experience preferred.
- 2+ years' of experience in a laboratory setting would be beneficial.
- SAP and Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets) experience.
- Will complete a color assessment as part of the interview process.
