To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must have a Bachelor of Science or Art from a four-year college or university, or at least 2 years of experience as a Quality Control Technician in a food-related business. The employee must be able to work flexible hours and at times flexible shifts. The employee must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and make written reports. The employee should have basic computer skills: word processing, spreadsheet and Outlook. The employee is frequently exposed to cold and wet and/or humid conditions in order to perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is ocassionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles and extreme cold. REPORTS TO: Quality Control Director and QC Manager AssistantRequirements1. Able to plan, prioritize, complete tasks effectively and efficiently. 2. Maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity3. Perform the Pre-op and Operational Inspection procedure, assuring that the Processing area is cleaned and in good operational conditions4. Monitor St Clair food safety and food quality standards: product and environmental temperatures, weight control, allergen checks, label checks, collect retention samples, organoleptic property controls: flavor, odor, appearance; and foreign object control: metal detector and X-ray. 5. Ensure that the finished product is not processed in unsanitary conditions or with a potential for cross-contamination 6. Cover for absences and vacancies as appointed by Management7. Participate in other Quality Assurance Programs: Sample retention inspection, QC inventory, pest control inspection, premise inspection and internal audits, cooler and freezer temperatures, etc.8. Plan paperwork and logistics for next production day: retention sample labels, change over, allergen cleaning, etc.9. Inform the company in case of absence or late arrival10. Ensure compliance of the Federal and State regulations and internal company policies, including OSHA work safety and security rules11. Other Q.C. duties as neededShift Hours: M-F 9:00am-7:00pm (Hours may vary)
