Job Summary Develops and executes manual and automated test plans to identify software problems and determine the root cause of the issue. Assists in facilitating UAT and the associated defect triage of issues and bugs, including managing end-user expectations and collaborating with the vendor regarding defect resolution.   • Inspects products, processes, and equipment to ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies, procedures, and specifications.
  • Tests products and processes to establish functionality and effectiveness.
  • Determines what modifications are needed after testing.
  • Documents business requirements for bug fixes and enhancements.
  • Designs, develops and reviews test processes.
  • Conducts software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments.
  • Designs test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
  • Designs or develops automated tests.
  • Assists in developing standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness.
  • Develops testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
  • Documents software defects, using bug tracking system, and reports defects to software developers.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and documents problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
  • Participates in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
  • Collaborates with staff to evaluate or diagnose problems and recommends possible solutions.
  • Reviews software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks.
  • Practices excellent customer service skills always to include, but not limited to, addressing customer and employee needs courteously and promptly.
  • Maintains strict departmental confidentiality, quality, and professional standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by conducting research, attending seminars, educational workshops, classes, and conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional societies; and conferring with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations.
  • Participates in cross-functional team process improvement projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervision of Others N/A Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • One to two year's experience in software testing preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation. No felony, theft, or fraud convictions.
Additional Eligibility Requirements
  • New employees must complete the Associate in Insurance (AINS) designation within six months from the end of the 90-day evaluation period in order to be eligible for advancement and incentive compensation.
  • For continued employment, employees must complete an elective course, targeted training, and six hours of professional development within 12 months after the end of 90-day evaluation period.

  • Knowledge of AMERIND products and services.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Ability to analyze operational requirements and assess technology and capacity requirements.
  • Ability to create testing requirements.
  • Ability to determine computer problems and coordinate hardware and/or software solutions.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot programming changes and modifications.
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands
  • Typical business office setting with moderate noise level.
  • Non-office environment may be encountered for offsite presentations and support of company activities.
  • Must be able to sit for work at a computer for more than 6 hours per day.
  • Must be able to use hands for dexterity of motion and reach with hands and arms. Extensive use of computer keyboards.
  • Must have visual acuity to distinguish colors, images, and depth perception.
  • Frequently required to talk and hear.
  • Must have ability to occasionally lift 20+ lbs.
  • Minimal business travel required.
Physical Exam Not required for position. Pay Range: $48,294 - $72,441 per year
