GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Quality & Sourcing Engineer is responsible for supporting Quality, Sourcing, and Manufacturing by creating and maintaining product technical drawings, and documenting, maintaining, and improving departmental procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manufacturing, quality control, and sourcing support.
- Reverse engineer existing products for purpose of product improvement or quoting.
- Assist in preparation of drawing packages for sourcing diversification.
- Product design model & drawing creation.
- Assist with providing technical information to sales, marketing, and client success teams.
- Dimensional, functional, and aesthetic evaluation of prototypes and samples.
- Create work instructions for product assembly and field replacement.
- Assist with creation and revision of Quality Acceptance Standards (QAS), departmental SOP's, tools for QC inspection, presentations.
- Work with QC team to investigate vendor issues and create VDR/VDN claim documentation with photos and context.
- Investigate root cause and implement corrective action in response to customer complaints.
- Document, define, and improve departmental floor processes.
- Assist in qualifying new vendor legacy products, including color matching, and product conformance. Assist with implementation and execution of product rework/ QC sorts.
- All other duties as assigned.
WORK EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering preferred (or equivalent).
- Manufacturing/QC experience preferred.
- 5 years Quality or Mechanical engineering experienced required.
- 3 – 5 years of leadership experience managing a team in quality or engineering processes preferred.
ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Familiar with AutoCAD 2D and 3D functions.
- Familiar with 3D modeling software – Solidworks Preferred.
- Technical Prowess – must be able to use tools such as a tape measure, calipers, and testing equipment.
- Great analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Manual dexterity – able to assemble and disassemble furniture components.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Lift and carry objects up to 50lbs with or without assistance.
- Up to 20% travel United States and Foreign.
