Quality Coordinator Job Description
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Coordinator will coordinate the activities/tasks that are
related to Quality Notifications (including internal defects, customer complaints, and supplier/raw
material deviations), be responsible for oversight of timely investigations, root cause analysis, and
product dispositions (with input from the Quality Manager). Responsibilities will include
entering/coordinating Quality Notifications (QNs) into the system and identifying tasks/activities
required, coaching investigators, facilitating and encouraging teamwork, and performing follow-ups to
facilitate timely responses to the site. Coordinate/Perform analytical, chemical, and physical tests
required for investigations. Participate in investigations and studies to determine the cause, effect, and
corrective actions required to correct issues and prevent future occurrences. The Quality Coordinator
will adhere to safety procedures, ensure a safe work environment, meet and exceed product quality
expectations, and assist in achieving process reliability goals.
The Quality Coordinator will also be responsible for coordinating the activities/tasks relating to the
Quality Control Lab. This includes responsibility for Quality Lab Technician's schedules and ensuring
adequate coverage during breaks, vacations, and callouts. The Quality Coordinator will also have
responsibility over lab equipment and inventory of supplies.
Quality Notifications:
Enters/coordinates entry of Quality Notifications (QNs) into the system, identifies
tasks/activities required, performs/coordinates QN tasks/activities as necessary
Provides coaching to investigators, facilitates and encourages teamwork, and performs followups
to provide timely responses to the site
Ensure product is on hold as appropriate
Communicates with Product Developers, Sales, Customer Quality Managers, Plant Quality
Leadership, and others, as needed on Quality Notifications
Coordinates/Performs analytical, chemical, and physical tests required for investigations
Coordinates/participates in investigations and studies to determine cause, effect, and corrective
actions required to correct issues and implementation of preventive measures for the future
Participates in complaint investigation in quality department to develop corrections/corrective
actions and implementation of the measures that were taken
Follows up on corrections/corrective action implementations for completion, and their
effectiveness - Audit for effectiveness of corrections/corrective actions
Reports to management on a periodic basis including internal defect status and time for QN
closures
Run reports/analyze data to ensure Quality Notifications are being closed out timely
Communicate with Quality Manager and/or corporate microbiologist on dispositions for
products as needed
Responsible for identifying and reporting any food safety and quality concerns

Lab Oversight:
Responsible for Quality Lab Technicians schedules
Ensure coverage in the Quality Lab during vacations, PTO, and call-outs
Run product samples on analytical equipment in the quality lab
Perform line inspections and obtain micro samples prior to/during packing out
Oversight of lab equipment, including scheduling third party calibration activities
Ensures Quality Lab is adequately provided with all necessary supplies and stationery
Qualifications:
Detail Oriented, Compliance, Documentation, MS Office, Technical and Continual Improvement
Process.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a
passion for delivering high-quality results.
Three years experience in quality control, quality assurance, and/or food manufacturing
Bachelors degree preferred but not required
Experience with RCA CAPA, HACCP, GMP's strongly recommended
