Your new role:

As a Quality Assurance and Food Safety Site Manager it is your responsibility to provide site specific management, direction and coordination of the quality inspection and food safety/HACCP management programs. Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in employment related decisions including; hiring, training, development, promoting, appraising, interpreting company policies and procedures, discipline, and terminating of employees in the Quality Assurance Department to ensure the continuous improvement of Company profits
  • Help promote company quality policies, objectives, plans and systems. Combine business knowledge and technical skills to research, recommend and assist implementation of new quality programs and technology
  • Assist in efforts to identify waste or non-value added activity, and participate / contribute to the effective resolution of these issues
  • Supervise all aspects of site specific quality employee activities including coordination and management of schedules, proper accounting of hours, management of day-to-day activities, and resolution of personal and systematic issues
  • Coordinate, review and update the HACCP and food safety programs at the site, including training and maintenance.
  • Maintain hazard analysis and risk assessment records in accordance with all regulatory and customer requirements for the site.
  • Regularly review and update GMP policies, procedures and training programs for all employees at the site.
  • Coordinate and participate in food safety / HACCP audits (GMP, brittle plastics, chemical control etc…) at the site.
  • Coordinate HACCP required certifications and documentation at the site.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party pest control to ensure an effective pest control program is implemented and actions are taken as required, at the site.
  • Act as backup for QA Inspection or Lab Technician as needed
  • Participate in the judgment on material fitness for use
  • Participate in customer complaint and RMA / Credit system
  • Manage and coordinate the site specific calibration program
  • Manage and coordinate customer specifications, certification of analysis, QA files, and inspection data system for facility
  • Create and submit quality and customer related reports as a means to track and trend overall quality system performance as required
  • Insure overall quality of goods produced for our customers. Resolve redline situations, where necessary
  • Assist in the development and management of standard operating procedures, work instructions and other quality system related documents
  • Participate as a Lead Auditor in the GOEX internal audit program (including Quality, Food Safety and GMP audits).Assist with development of other auditors at the site.
  • Develop, contribute to, maintain and improve the GOEX Inspection Data Program
  • Maintain site specific chemical control program.
  • Assist in development of department budgeting and actual performance to budget
  • Responsible for understanding the food safety hazards of their job and following the employee GMPs and other procedures to ensure food safety
  • Other duties as assigned.

Monday-Friday (40 hour work week)

You'll need:

  • Preferred college degree with analytical background in major. Course emphasis in statistics, math and sciences.
  • Minimum five years experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering
  • Knowledge of an experience with ISO9001 quality systems and auditing
  • Experience in the Food Packaging or Food Processing industry with knowledge of GFSI standards preferred
  • Proficient with ERP systems and related software such as Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be able to lift 30-40 pounds consistently
  • Be able to operate all inspection and test equipment
  • Must have 20/20 vision or correct to 20/20, cannot be colorblind
  • Presents and maintains a professional demeanor. Ability to positively work as part of a team.
