Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Auditor is responsible and accountable to oversee the compliance of the airline Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program as described by the Code of Federal Regulations. The Quality Assurance Auditor coordinates and manages the Gridiron Air Technical Operations Quality Assurance Program, Quality Assurance Audit Programs, Quality Assurance Vendor Management oversight, and the regulatory and business case oversight of support facilities as they apply to powerplant, airframe, articles, shops, or vendors, including MRO's. Work requires technical knowledge and understanding of the Gridiron Air Ops Specs, Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program, and CFR's. The Quality Assurance Auditor's role is to assist with the development, establishment, and enforcement of quality assurance standards and measure for the maintenance, engineering, and the vendor management functions within the Technical Operations organization. The Quality Assurance Auditor also monitors the performance of the quality management system and produces data and reports on performance, measuring against set indicators. He/she coordinates with the other Auditors and staff throughout Gridiron Air to ensure that the QA system is functioning properly. Where appropriate, the Quality Assurance Auditor advises on changes and their implementation and provides training, tools, and techniques to enable others to achieve quality.
The Quality Assurance Auditor will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate maintenance, repair, engineering, vendor management, and related processes through careful testing and analysis in order to maximize the benefit of business investments in compliance and quality initiatives. The Quality Assurance Auditor establishes and maintains fair and harmonious relationships with the operations management team, AMT's, internal customers, vendors, FAA, and all business contacts. He/she carries out their activities in support of policies, goals, and objectives established by Gridiron Air and Management.
Primary Job Duties:
- Plans, coordinates, executes, and reviews audits of 121/145 shop maintenance or vendor activity
- Provide data in support of the Quality Assurance Program as a part of the Technical Operations Safety and Quality Management Systems (SMS)
- Provide data in support of Quality Assurance and Continuous Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) auditing activities that are a part of the CASS. This includes the composite collaborative auditing of assigned base and line maintenance, repair shops, and vendor activities, as well as related engineering and support functions
- Develop checklists to target specific audit findings and prepare technical reports communication Quality Assurance review of audit findings
- Track audit findings, provide follow-up, and ensure closure of all audits
- Accomplishes special projects as directed by the Director of Quality
- Manages the day-to-day quality and compliance activities, including batch record review, process validation, change control, non-conformance investigations, customer complaints, and new process introduction
- Responsible for implementing compliance programs, performing annual product reviews, tracking and reporting quality
- metrics, driving continuous improvement, and performing quality assessments to determine compliance to internal policies and guidelines and regulatory commitments/requirements
- Coordinate and participate in investigations as required
- Identifies and resolves compliance risks and assists work sites in preparing for Regulatory Authority inspections
- Ensures that critical supply chain issues are included in the appropriate Technical Operations action plans
- Develops remediation plans to address technical and compliance gaps
- Conduct and coordinate Quality System Management Reviews
- Prepares and issues Key Quality Indicator (KQI) and Quality System Management reports as required
- Monitors daily, weekly, and monthly performance indicators to ensure that he/she is meeting critical performance targets
- Identifies and facilitates the resolution of personnel and/or process problems affecting performance or compliance in a timely fashion
- Work closely with co-workers as well as individually to accomplish audit objectives
- Develops relationships with production, engineering, supply, production control, operations center, and other groups that interact with Quality Assurance
- Works closely with other departments to coordinate the accomplishment of work plans, new directives, and new objectives across all assigned groups
- Meets with the Director of Quality and other departments to ensure that operations are being executed in accordance with the organization's overall goals, strategies, policies, and plans
- Identifies and implements work process improvements that contribute to meeting QA and corporate goals and objectives
- Creates and continuously improves the structure and processes necessary to manage his/her operation's current activities and its projected workload
- Develops and installs procedures and control to promote communication and adequate information flow within the operation and all key individuals and work groups within and outside of the assigned work group(s)
- Maintains compliance with hardware and software systems to assist in the smooth and efficient flow of information
- Ensures that all activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing Gridiron Air business operations
Qualifications:
- Airline and aircraft maintenance technical knowledge
- Apply airline and aircraft maintenance knowledge to quality assurance activities
- Understand and create plans utilizing a wide array of airline and aircraft maintenance technical, process, and measurement data
- Knowledge of principles and methods for quality assurance program design
- Knowledge of principles and processes for meeting quality standards for products and services with their evaluation
- Ability to build interpersonal relationships and foster an environment of working together
- Working knowledge of Gridiron Air policies and procedures
- Working knowledge of FAA, OSHA, EPA and other governmental regulations pertaining to aircraft maintenance, repair, engineering, vendor management, and MRO's
- Working knowledge of the applicable CFR's and their application

Position Requirements:
- A&P License is required
- Related technical undergraduate degree is a plus
- Business or related degree is a plus
Experience:
- Has a successful Line, Base, and shop experience at a supervisor level or above
- At least 5 years experience in related aircraft maintenance, maintenance engineering, or maintenance auditing positions
- Related industry Quality Assurance experience is a plus
- A successful track record and experience with process improvement in maintenance and/or production environments
- Proficient in PowerPoint, MSWord, MS Excel, MS Access, Outlook, and databases
Other Job Requirements:
- Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access to privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable
- Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customer security badges, if applicable
- Candidates for this position should have administrative & labor relations experience in an airline industry environment
- Heavy travel, domestic and/or international, may be required
- When applicable, may be required to work rotating shifts, nights, and weekends
- TSA Regulations require a fingerprint based criminal history records check for all employees with unescorted ramp access. The background check must be completed prior to any individual assuming this position.
- Long hours of traveling, sitting, walking or standing may be required to perform and administer audits.
