Vernon, IN.What we doSituated on a 100-acre site, our facility has 600,000 square feet of shop area and a 1,000-ton lift capacity from the shop to the river. The Mount Vernon facility is equipped with large CNC machine tools along with sophisticated welding and heat-treating equipment to produce components for naval nuclear reactors, which are used in submarines and aircraft carriers.What you'll doParticipate in procedure development and ownership, to include maintenance of ISO-9000 quality system procedures and work instructionsCertify as Auditor to support internal and external quality system auditsCollaborate with engineering and production personnel to support manufacturing delivery of first-time, defect-free productParticipate in causal analysis of nonconformities and identify corrective actions to prevent recurrence and/or mitigating actions to reduce probability of recurrenceSupport resolution of quality issues and nonconformitiesPerform periodic surveillances and self-assessments to ensure quality system complianceAssist in the development and implementation of inspection plans and quality system improvementsSupport of inspection personnel, NDT Level III/NAVSEA Examiners and development of inspection techniquesPerform maintenance of quality assurance recordsPerform analysis and trending of quality data to implement product improvement actionsPerform supplier quality/oversight activitiesParticipate in CAPA (corrective action) resolution for component processesParticipate in and lead continuous improvement projectsWhat we need from youA Bachelor's degree is required with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related engineering or technical discipline being strongly preferred.A minimum of two years quality experience in a manufacturing environmentMust have basic educational knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materialsHands-on manufacturing experience for industrial equipment and familiarity with both traditional and advanced manufacturing methods is desiredMust have demonstrated the ability to lead teams of technical people and have strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to effectively prepare and deliver technical reports and presentationsStrong team player with the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external customers and suppliersExperience with manufacturing for nuclear reactor applications is desired, but not requiredMust be a US Citizen with no dual citizenshipPreference will be given to candidates with prior experience in a QA Engineering role, particularly those with a background in machining/welding manufacturing, non-destructive testing, shop surveillance, inspection, data trending, procedure development, supplier quality/oversight, and corrective action.Benefits to working hereThe Quality Assurance Engineer will work a 9/80 work week while receiving market leading pay, paid time off and paid holidays; medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options; parental leave; and service-based retirement contributions with additional 401k match.Why work in Mt. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
